To be frank its like the Govt. isn't really interesting in #renewableenergy...

Mingyang Smart Energy‘s MySE 16-260, the world’s largest offshore #windturbine, is now operating at full capacity – and it just withstood #TyphoonTalim. #Typhoon Talim packed a punch, with maximum winds of 136.8 km per hour (85 mph). The MySE 16-260 can produce 67 million kWh of power annually, enough for an astonishing 80,000 households, reducing CO2 by 56,000 tonnes.

"Lawmakers in Maine on Wednesday passed legislation that would set a 3-gigawatt target for offshore wind deployment off the state's scenic coastline by 2040, a level that could satisfy half of its 1.3 million residents' power needs.
"The bill would help the New England state meet Governor #JanetMills' proposed goal for a decarbonized power grid by 2040 and provide a substantial boost to nascent floating wind turbine technology required in the deep waters of the Gulf of Maine."

Vattenfall have halted the large Norfolk Boreas #windfarm project after costs of construction have escalated beyond the maximum fixed contract price license awarded by the Govt. for the project.
Whether a similar issue will halt other #offshorewind projects remains to be seen, but either Vattenfall will be waiting for costs to subside, or the Govt. will have to rethink the price structure of the pricing of these licenses.

#French green hydrogen company #Lhyfe announced that its offshore wind–green hydrogen pilot, a 200-square-meter platform called #Sealhyfe, has produced first kilos of green hydrogen. The hydrogen pilot project will be able to produce 400kg (882lb) of hydrogen daily.
