It takes it from one to two lines and adds an OS nerd font "icon" I composed from another theme. I have it applied to all terminals I use ( #pwsh, #zsh, #cygwin #bash )

After many, many years of maintaining my own custom prompt (in #PowerShell, at least) I've grown wary of adding new features and switched to @jan's #OhMyPosh across all platforms and shells (except #vim...yet): https://heaths.dev/general/2023/01/02/oh-my-posh.html

I refactored my old prompt into a separate module as a fallback for when OMP isn't installed along with a reminder to do so. In the past it wasn't fast enough for me (and in the beginning, I don't think even existed yet), but it's better now on faster machines.

Got down and dirty with my #macos configuration today. Replaced my terminal with #iterm2 and configured #ohmyposh .

I feel at almost at home as I did with #windowsterminal now

I’m pretty happy with #winget, but I still needed #Chocolatey for the Okta CLI install, that may be true for others.

Nice to have: #PS7, #OhMyPosh, a #nerdfont, #dotpeek or #ilspy

If you’re using visual studio, don’t forget installing the env packs takes 20-90mins, depending on what you need

Anyone got recommendations for a good #ohmyposh powershell terminal theme? One that works well for a #dotnet dev (git status is a must).

6/ #PSReadLine, #PoshGit, & #ohmyposh, as nice as they are, leave a lot to be desired when it comes to autocompletion / tab completion. Sure, I could manually reimplement all the niceties of #ohmyzsh, but that’s significantly more work than I’m interested in doing. #moa
