The court of appeals dismisses a case challenging the City of Olympia's original Missing Middle Ordinance.

The decision is based on HP 1923, which prohibited appeals of ordinances increasing housing densities, which was passed as this case was being considered.

The original missing middle ordinance included much more aggressive steps, including single room occupancies.

on the #olywa city council side, there are two seats with no opponents at all. Two years ago, each seat was contested by at least three strong candidates representing a different angle city politics.

There was an interesting shift in attention is local races in #olywa that seems to be reflected by candidate filings statewide. While the #olympiawa school district is usually the sleepy races every couple of years, all the focus seems to be on that side. There is one race with TWO sitting board members (someone moved) and an open seat with FIVE candidates.
