The new #OneDnD #UnearthedArcana wizard gets Memorize Spell at level 5, and I think people are going to miss how amazing this feature is. It's a prepared spell that that you can change in one minute whenever you want at no cost. That's absolutely amazing on a wizard.
Party: "Oh no, a locked door, and our rogue has been convenient disintegrated. What do we do? I guess we need a long rest in the middle of this dungeon"
Wizard: "Yo, gimme one minute to prepare Knock."
I know it's not exactly a representative sample, but this isn't exactly a ringing endorsement. #OneDND
I haven't had a chance to watch the latest #OneDND playtest results video because I've been super busy with work, but every summary I've read seems to indicate that the 2024 release is hewing closer and closer to the original 2014 version. Is that correct?

The Survey Results for UA5 are out. I don't know if I entirely agree with the conclusions made here.
It feels like a large subset of #OneDnD playtesters have difficulty analyzing updates to classes and subclasses beyond "is it a buff", "is it a nerf", and to what degree. Consider that the end result of a rules revamp shouldn't necessarily be "all features remain at equal power or get stronger" and that some things NEED to be scaled back for game balance. And some features should be thrown out completely and rebuilt from the ground up. #DungeonsAndDragons #DnD

Six thousand three hundred eighty-seven words later, I’m done with the latest #OneDnD #DungeonsAndDragons playtest survey.
The #CircleOfTheMoon #Druid should be able to use its spellcasting ability for #WildShape attack rolls, and its spell save DC for any saving throw its shape's actions or traits trigger. This would make those shapes naturally scale in power as you invest in druid levels, even letting you pick normally lower challenge ratings to achieve specific traits or flavor. There, fixed another #OneDnD playtest! #DungeonsAndDragons #DnD

@LeviKornelsen Neglected to mention that I'm keeping a very close eye on the #OneDnD proposals and responses—or is it #DnD2024? Or #5E2E?

I'm still debating whether player's getting more bonus action options is good for the game in regard to the latest #OneDnD playtest.
It's definitely better for players, as they get to do more every round. But is it good for the game overall, does it slow things down, does it imbalance things (Paladin's bonus action healing for example).
@Alphastream / @shawnmerwin would be curious on your thoughts
While the large packets are hard to digest, they do provide us with a view to the larger picture of #OneDnD 's goals and design direction.
There's quite a few principles being laid out in the latest packet, and the new article on the Dragon's Library talks about them.

That said, I'd love to hear what others think. Maybe there's an old subclass that would slot in nicely to these gaps (see first post in thread), or perhaps you've got an entirely new homebrew class concept. Let me know! Let's use all the abilities and spell lists! #DungeonsAndDragons #DnD #5e #OneDnD #UnearthedArcana #Spellcasting #PactMagic
#dungeonsAndDragons #DnD #5e #OneDnD #UnearthedArcana #spellcasting #pactmagic
As of the latest #OneDnD #UnearthedArcana, here's a chart of the spellcasting ability and spell list for every #5e class/subclass with #Spellcasting/#PactMagic. Heads up: this is a silly analysis measuring nothing important. But it highlights an interesting (to me) gap: there are no classes that use the Divine or Primal spell lists that also use Intelligence as their spellcasting ability. Which begs the question: what new/existing game concepts could fulfill those roles? #DungeonsAndDragons #DnD

@thewelshdm the SRD hitting Creative Commons made WotC pretty redundant in my mind. Especially since #OneDnD is such an obvious cash grab (ie trying to make it DND as a Service instead of just creating a new edition)
For a class famed for it's speed & quickness, didn't half take a while for the Monk to arrive in the #OneDnD playtest
A number of design punches have been thrown, but which ones landed, and which hit nothing but air?
