After all it's very hard to buy a foreign #VPN with neither credit card nor #PayPal nor #Monero at hand.
So not being able to track IPs was seen as a tradeoff by them.

OFC #Tor may have issues re: #DDoS of #OnionServices, but it's not impossible to just rate-limit circuits and yeet misbehaving circuits, but unless you're operating some commercial site that's not really going to happen...

I'd consider #OPNsense for other use cases, like doing #OnionServices transparently, so even if the box running said services were to be pwned, they'd not be able to steal the private key needed to take over from the same box.
