Another lovely read.
@KGreenbergTO on the bird site says: #OntarioPlace and the #ScienceCentre were designed by two of the country’s finest architects of the time — Eb Zeidler and Raymond Moriyama in a new era in architecture as international modernism embraced by cities across the country.

More support for Ontario Place 4 All’s proposal to the #Ontario government to reinvent #OntarioPlace and #ScienceCentre as their founders intended, to respect rheir values, to respect the community and the province and to honour our heritage, not destroy it.

Ontario Place for All releases “A Better Idea” an alternative plan for #OntarioPlace & #ScienceCentre revitalization, focussed on green space, connection to nature, the city & uses pods for SC branch connected by Ontario Line.
Plan integrates with nature & the original purpose of the site to represent #Ontario, rather than parachuting in an out-of-touch & discordant #Megaspa.

Memories of Ontario Place
for #BlueMonday
The biosphere in a public park on the shore of Lake Ontario.
The biosphere will remain, but a large swath of public green space will be privatized, if this provincial government has its way, for a spa for the rich and possibly a casino, since spas and casinos go well together to attract people with $.

The red dots represent some of the 846 trees that will be removed from #OntarioPlace to make room for a 9-story private spa and 5-story $450M underground parking lot.

"This is Ontario Place at a physical, political, and economic crossroads. It seems an important moment to record it, as a reminder of what it once was, and to consider what it can become."

Read Spacing.ca to find out everything (the city won't tell us) about Ontario Place redevelopment plans.
Rather than destroying Ontario Place, Rexdale deserves a spa (near the airport).
