The more I watch about OpAmps, the more they feel like an awesome cheat code to me.
Want a voltage at some point to be some determined value? Connect the negative feedback to that point and the OpAmp will pump as much current there as necessary to make sure the voltage is there. No need* for heavy math and accounting for all elements between the OpAmp and the probe point.
Watching this series of "from scratch", I think I finally understood what opamps can be used for - push enough current to reach a desired voltage at some other point in the circuit, which can be farther away than "just beyond the opamp".

I'm looking at a summing amplifier of three input signals and it's got a polarised #capacitor - wouldn't this lop off half the signal?? What's it doing there?
