I've used every day for the past 8 years. It works! Thousands of people have used it and similar open source AID systems over the years.

Recently, the algorithm I designed - by teaching someone how I manage manually and realizing we could 'teach' a computer the same rules - was also proven safe and effective in a randomized control trial (RCT) in both children and adults.

For those who aren't familiar with :

I (we) made an open source automated insulin delivery system (now known as AID more so than APS, but same thing) to feed data from my insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor (CGM) into an algorithm so it could recommend and enact changes to insulin delivery automatically.

Traditionally, insulin pumps and CGMs don't do this - they didn't talk to each other!

We did this on our own years before AID was available commercially.

I created the first healthcare hashtag chat () back in the day and moderated that for almost a decade.

I developed the first open source automated insulin delivery (AID) system ().

I'm currently an independent grant-funded health researcher, working on projects and also facilitating and supporting other patient-led research efforts.
