"The difficulties encountered in implementing [Open Science] across diverse research environments are tied to philosophical assumptions about how science does – and ought to – work."

#introduction hello! I'm a scholarly comms / open access librarian working in a UK university. I spend a lot of time at work helping researchers comply with various funder open access regulations and wrangling APC payments and transitional agreements. Fairly cynical about the whole endeavour, but interested in moving funds to support more equitable models of OA, encouraging rights retention, and talking to people about open access books. I'm a member of UCU (soon to be on strike again!) I have my PhD in information studies, like qualitative research & critical approaches to LIS, and one day if I have time I might write something again. At home I (queer) parent two kiddos under 5 and walk an anxious dog in the woods
