Amazing how my vintage Mac Pro from 2013 stills up to date! 🎉

Now I can install the latest version of #Xcode ☺️

Ein MacBook Air 2010 mit 1,86 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2 GB DDR3 RAM und 128 GB SSD hat sich zu mir verirrt. Endlich eine Gelegenheit, #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher und #macOsMonterey auszuprobieren (MacOsVenturra wird noch nicht unterstützt).

Well I just discovered #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher and I am amazed. My MacBook Pro 13 Late 2013 is running the latest version of #macOS despite not being supported.
And everything appears to be running out of the box. Just awesome.

Some people never stop to amaze me. This is just..... amazing. Runs pretty smooth for now. Not expecting miracles. But this is..... Unexpected. Let's see for how many years this will serve as a regular workstation for some internet work and office stuff.

A 2010 MacBookPro *can* run #macOS #Ventura by using #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher, but nothing is going to give it the CPU and RAM to make it a fast experience.

If you have a need to access the latest XCode or similar, do not have access to newer hardware, and are... patient..., it will work, and you can even use it to develop #iOS or #flutter. (Did I mention... very... patient), which is amazing, but its sweet spot is probably 2012+ and 8GB+

Aktuell anscheinend nirgendwo ein SSD-Upgrade-Kit zu bekommen. Brexit-Ware von OWC leider mit Zollgedöns und dadurch einfach zu nervig und zu teuer. Also vorerst ohne SSD. Does anyone using #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher @khronokernel has a pointer for me why, on my MBP 11,3 after an #macOS security update, my user (admin) password is no longer accepted by the patcher in safe mode? System settings accepts it. Cannot install the root patch this way. Installing the root patch *as root* doesn’t solve this. It still won’t boot except in safe mode, effectively closing the circle. This is the #Nvidia model.

@rdodson It isn‘t and that‘s the reason why I installed it using OpenCore Legacy Patcher (https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/). I haven‘t found any issues as of now and the performance is good.

After numerous reboots with error messages, macOS Ventura is finally running on my #imagelate2012 (13,2 model) thanks to #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher. This is nothing for the faint hearted!
It feels quite snappy when using it.

I now installed OpenCore on the USB stick that contains the Ventura installer and on the disk where Ventura shall be installed. Let‘s see… #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher #imaclate2012

I had no success regarding the installation of macOS Ventura on my late-2012 iMac so far. It stays in the install loop. I‘m going to reset NVRAM and try it again this afternoon.
Any hints from the fediverse?
