Bei der von Euch schon erwähnten Nachhaltigkeit ist als ein Beispiel, dass spezialisierte und/oder miniaturisierte Hardware energieeffizienter sein kann. Es gibt so viel zu ergründen, denn das heißt ja noch nicht automatisch, dass am Ende insgesamt weniger Ressourcen eingesetzt werden müssen.

I am fully back on a 24v #solar system running largely #openhardware from https://electrodacus.com

My system failed in late 2021 with no replacement parts to be had, so spent the last 9 months on a 12v battery and victron MPPT charger.

For the last few weeks, I ran half my panels on the 12v system with the victron MPPT charger, and half on the electrodacus SBMS0...

Much to my surprise, the MPPT did not outperform the SBMS0, but at least MPPT was more expensive, complicated and proprietary!

My #solar #lifepo4 #openhardware battery management controller, an SBMS60, seems to be mostly dead.

Maybe I shorted something while trying to install a temperature sensor inside the battery box?

It is in theory still "working", but the interface to change settings, and to see how fully charged the batteries are, is pretty dead.

The person who designed and built it has been hugely helpful and responsive, but has parts shortages so can't make more right now:
