In light of recent controversies about MDPI, we believe it's important to study these reviews. Papers frequently have more than 4 reviewers over multiple rounds. We have submitted the MultilayerGraphs.jl paper to #JOSS.

Up until now we have been invited by the editors to:

1. Shorten the paper;
2. Remove code from the paper and just link to the “example” folder;
3. Add a few graphical illustrations to explain the chosen keywords.

Its 2022 and the fact that some conferences (looking at you, *CL) still use #SoftConf is beyond me. Its like a 1990's website: hard to navigate for reviewers, I'm certain its also hard for ACs. Why not just switch to #OpenReview?

@nsaphra i think #OpenReview should enable an upvote/downvote feature - last I heard from them they were working on something similar. Conferences like ICLR already allow public comments during review, but its public nature doesn’t allow anonymous criticism (which is good imo, as it helps weed out trolls). A reddit style voting feature might allow an AC to take account of these issues.

The article is published in the #OpenAccess and #OpenReview journal Climate of the Past. Climatology really supports these ideas and this journal made a meteoric rise.

A mathematician reviewer was once impressed by an article I had published there because of the high Impact Factor, but when I published it was still a no-name journal. 🤡
