I tried turning our Information Panel component into a HTML dialog, today. But I realised it didn't work for our use case.
So really, we need to be using the new popover attribute proposed by the #OpenUI CG! I hope it gets standardised soon!
I remember one of @jhey 's demos of popover. There's some pretty amazing use cases for it. It'll have a huge impact on making accessible menus and whatnot when it goes live in browsers.

At least some people do this stuff, huh. Text color on that site is not #000, though, which is a bad sign.
