i lost my partner's yule socks.

ive torn apart the closet looking for them. and this is not a tragedy--i can buy them more socks before yule. no. this is more the story of my life, where i hide something so safely and so well that god themself cannot find it, and it is never found, and must instead be replaced. the socks. the poem. the thousand different things i have misplaced throughout my life and been berated for "losing".

losing? i tried so hard to save it that i hid it from myself. and after i die im going to find out that there are minature black holes all over the world, and that some people are vectors for these event horizons, and that i was one of those people, a victim of circumstance rather than an empty mind. a thing lost, always wanted, coveted in fact by a natural phenomenon, a black cloud that was intended to be a blessing, my errors made magnificent by the turning of the earth and the immense gravity of infinity. found, rather than crushed.
