The number of people acting as if a subjective, caveated statement of probability can be deemed objectively false is insane.

This is about the argument over on Twitter.

What really went on in that Wuhan market - and the curious case of the raccoon dog.

It’s the early hours of 31 December 2019 and a cleaning squad is moving through the narrow lanes of a large, covered market in the Chinese city of Wuhan. The Huanan Seafood Market has been linked to a number of cases of a mysterious new illness circulating in the city, suggesting that animals there might be the source. ...

SARS like bat coronaviruses so they have antibodies to them because they've been exposed and infected and if one of those
19:08
individuals got infected the incubation periods 14 days they could have visited woo hyung and that could have caused the
19:14
outbreak so there's a couple different hypotheses floating around which what that mediated the start of the outbreak

"18:40
an equally plausible mechanism for the outbreak is that Chinese living in rural
18:47
areas in farming communities in close proximity to bat hibernacula could have been infected with a bat and the data
18:54
that supports that is that many Chinese that do live near the bat hibernacula actually have syrup converted to these

"The lab leak theory goes mainstream. How safe are top-security laboratories?"

"After the World Health Organization’s attempts to find the origin of Covid effectively rule out a lab leak, there’s a backlash. A new US president helps bring the lab leak theory into the mainstream. What are the dangers involved in the work being done in virology laboratories? How effective are their safety measures? And do the benefits of their work ..."

The matters.

After a tragedy, should authorities throw up the sponge: ‘It already happened, no sense in fussing now’?

No, because the investigative process reveals liabilities; answers help direct preventative efforts; and accountability deters future risk-taking.

"A virus is rampaging in the 1 city where there is a plan+capabilities to make exactly that type of virus.
3 scientists in that lab get Covid-like illness right before the detected outbreak.
I'm not saying it's case closed. But how do you get natural from this?"
It's a corona-virus. :blob_neutral_face:
In a large city, they researched flu, and three people got the flu. :blob_neutral_face:

"It was known to be involved in the collection of thousands of blood and faecal samples from wild bats, research that was sometimes done without wearing proper protective equipment, according to Chinese news reports - a clear infection risk.

"The people who work there could have become infected while they're in a cave collecting bats," Prof Lipkin says, adding that he was not aware of the lab and its work when he co-wrote the March 2020 paper."

This report confirms that no virologist was on the investigative team: the FCS is *not* a con to zoonotic spillover origins.

And what was that about recombination happens only between similar viruses?

So, even in the fediverse, some officials claim that the is over.
And yet they continue to promote "tools" that have become obsolete because they have never updated guidelines.
How can the WHO understand how a pandemic started if they can't even assess when it ends?

arose from in Horseshoe Bats. This image is included in the video as proof that the origin was a live animal market. The bats shown are Fruit Bats. In 2003, were Horseshoe Bats ever sold in the same location as Civet Cats and Raccoon Dogs? Are/were Horseshoe Bats ever collected commercially? Are they used in superstitious potions and supplements? If so, the hunter/ preparer, not the consumer of a dried product is at risk.
