I use this tool to help learn Homeric Greek words, but I wonder if there was a way to search. Sometimes all I need is to know a few words and online translators struggle with Ancient Greek

Whenever I ponder the myth of Orpheus and what it is meant to reveal about the Mysteries, I always find myself left with this question:

Are we Orpheus? Or are we Eurydice?

In my research of the Orphic Mysteries, a figure I've found to be mysteriously absent in a lot of my sources is Ariadne, one of the lovers of Dionysus. Perhaps she held a more esoteric role, which is why she doesn't appear much in exoteric research. Or maybe her relationship to Dionysus was irrelevant to the Orphic Mysteries. I find this latter theory to be the least interesting because her role in the Minotaur's Labyrinth myth feels (to me) thematically Orphic. Especially since the Roman Ariadne is often syncretized with Prosperpina (Roman Persephone).

But if anybody knows of any Orphic sources that discuss Ariadne, please let me know!

I usually work on translation by starting as raw and literal and verbose before trying to make it as native and eloquent without losing the original intentions and meanings

Translating factual articles is much easier

In the Orphic tradition, Persephone is a Goddess of Justice in addition to being the Queen of the Underworld. She is also identified as the mother of the Erinyes (Furies), fierce Goddesses who punish those who harm others.
