Earlier this summer, I went osprey banding. The babies are helpless, so there's almost no chance of getting footed, taloned or bit. They aren't thrilled by it, but if we recover their band - hopefully years from now - we may learn a little bit about where they end up.

I am still working on those skills but I have gotten better at photos of birds in flight. At least when it comes to larger birds and especially ospreys.

"Birders are hopeful ospreys are taking to a series of artificial nests on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula as the laying season starts."
"A nest near the Port Lincoln barge so far has three eggs in it, with both parents taking turns to care for the eggs."

Most of the time, one #bird is sitting on a solitary #egg while the other is out hunting, I suppose. Like most of life, things are a bit dull and all you see is a bird sitting patiently on the nest, incubating its egg.
