In Lyon for a soutenance de thèse at ENS Lyon (happily concluded) and so able to see the marvellous Poussin et l'Amour exhibition at the Musée des Beaux Arts. It could be called 'Poussin and classical myth' or 'Poussin and Ovid' and it's all round fabulous. Interesting to compare his 'Hermes, Herse and Aglauros', normally in the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, with the Veronese version of the same scene in the Fitzwilliam in Cambridge. #poussin #ovid #Classics #lyon
