Berks County Results

Oz: 50.4% (78,019)
Fetterman: 46.1% (71,349)

It's been a while since I did something like this; I finally got around to doing this county. Fett won a lot of outer boroughs: Kutztown, Fleetwood, Amity Gardens, Wernersville, etc.

Fetterman: 51.3% (2,751,012)

Here's a breakdown of voting methods for . The moral of the story is clear - by putting all his eggs in the Election Day basket, Oz could not erase that deficit with mail-in ballots. Based on the breakdown, he won ED by a little over 10 points. He needed closer to 20.

A question was asked by @VoteDEMreddit@twitter.com - did any third-party candidate do better than Oz in Philadelphia? The answer is actually *yes.* There are multiple precincts where the Libertarian nominee, Erik Gerhardt, surpassed Oz and came second behind Fetterman.

Philadelphia County Results

Fetterman: 82.6% (412,841)
Oz: 15.7% (78,408)

Trump did 3 points better than Oz here, which is amusing. There are some precincts near the city center where Fett got 98-99% of the vote; Oz didn't even crack 1%. So much for his "appeal" there.

Lancaster County Results

Oz: 55.6% (124,798)
Fetterman: 42.1% (94,632)

The areas south and east of Lancaster City are ripe for expansion and Dem gains. Fetterman came close to flipping them and Shapiro got them - he was a few thousand votes short of taking the county.

Happy Mehmet Monday!

Fun fact - Oz got a lower share of the statewide vote than Lee Zeldin did in New York. 46.3% versus 47.1%. Additionally, he had the second worst share of the vote of any R candidate in this year’s Senate battlegrounds. Only Don Bolduc did worse.

Last set of numbers for the day.

2018 turnout: 58.18%
2022 turnout: ~60%

Statewide, turnout is actually higher than the last midterm. 5 million voters voted in 2018, 5.3 million and counting in 2022. Philly saw depressed turnout this time, otherwise Fett wins by 6-7.

Time for afternoon numbers with some tea or whatever drink strikes your fancy. We looked at the issues Fetterman won, but what about demographics?

Dems: 94-5
GOP: 10-90
Independents: 58-38
1st time midterm voters: 62-34

Winning indies by *20* and 10% of GOP? Lmao.

Whatever's left of the remaining ballots for broke by more favorable margins than I expected.

Fetterman: 51.2
Oz: 46.4

Fetterman wins by 4.8 points. He's now on track to be one of the best D performing candidates in the five battlegrounds and he's not even an incumbent!

With some more ballots in, Fetterman just hit the 51% vote share threshold with 15K still remaining in Philly, 17.5K in Chester, and a fair bit smattered across some rural counties. He's going to get above 51% now, that's for sure. Better than Toomey both times.

Fetterman is now outperforming Biden's numbers in 17 of the 18 Pennsylvania counties are reporting >95% of their vote.

The only county where Oz is outperforming Trump is Pike County, a county along the New Jersey border, where he's outperforming Trump by 0.9 points.
