Played a game of Blades in the Dark #BitD with my partner yesterday evening (their first time). They enjoyed it a lot more than #DnD or #PF1e. Why? Because character creation is simple (she hates the pressure of having to build a 'perfect' character) and you plunge straight into the action, without having to worry about minutiae like spell slots or hit points. She's up for another game!
Because it was just the two of us, we played GM-less, using the oracle mechanic from the Alone in the Dark 3rd party supplement for BitD #solo play. I'd never used an oracle before, but it was fun and worked really well!

@munroe i am a nearly 60 year-old newbie in the #TTRPG space and I asked the only human I knew and trusted to get me started. I’ve been playing #pathfinder1e rules ever since in formal and home brew scenarios. I lament that I got started at about the end of cheaply available 1e books. I’m just too old for PDFs. Anywho, #PF1e is the preferred rule set for this group and it is nothing but guys a little older than me who have been playing since the 70’s. Also play AFTERMATH rules. Washington DC
