Another #infrastructure disappointment for North #MontereyCounty. To the best of our knowledge (and we confirmed with our most reliable source on this project), this time it's #PG&E, not #Caltrans, impacting a project that #Transportation Agency for #Monterey County has been eager to see happen—as have residents and visitors.

I guess they know that people who want to switch will find #PG and Ferret on their own. So they are marketing to small new app developers that don't know how to use anything other than a graph db or doc store "catch all". Relational DBs are tough for some people. #Ferret might be the gateway drug for new developers.

I don't use #mongo regularly, just #jsonb in #pg, so I'm guessing:
1. Mongo users could port data into pg using existing #backup & #recovery infrastructure, then they'd have both SQL and mongo query/dump/load options for future #migrations
2. The pg API will lag mongo's and sunset existing features later. And #SQL api as a fallback
3. A mongo app could transition to pg incrementally or partially, increasing maintainability by using mongo queries and SQL queries where they make sense

@ivory LOVING you and been a longtime fan of @tapbots . One thing I would love to see, when the #roadmap allows, is to have some “#behaviors” relocated into per-account settings. I have #PG and #NSFW accounts. Ironically, I tend to skip over 99% of #CW toots in PG account. So having to go all the bay or the other is disorienting. So I’ve kept @MetaText going for now to reduce the dissonance.

Loving the app so far and looking forward to seeing it progress! 👏🏆

#PG&E just sent us a letter that told us that we use more electrical power than 95% of its customers who also have solar panels.

Gee, they didn't seem to notice that we are also on PG&E's electric vehicle schedule and that we typically home charge 15 to 20KWH every day in the wee dark hours before dawn.)

PG&E's slogan must be: We're just plain stupid. (But we will do anything to customers to "increase shareholder value")

BTW - PG&E field crews are great, its corporate management that sucks.

Someone (Sfcity? #pg&g?) who is responsible for #TreeTrimming should do better.

#PG&E gave me a heads up on coming high #natgas bill. In the summer, its around $11 every two months (just heating water), but in winter it jumps--particularly around the holidays. Last month $475. The heads up emails was saying $666 (appropriate enough since I will eventually end up in hell). A lot of folks will end up gobsmacked this month, even though PG&E has been highlighting high delivered natgas costs the last two months.
