Anyone else using #DEVONthink with or without #ObsidianMD? I index a few of my vaults on two different workstations and it's been interesting. DEVONthink is ultimately my trusted depot for all the things but I prefer having #notes in vaults that are accessible easily. #PKM

i have the #tasks #Obsidian plugin and rolling daily notes yadda yadda but i'm not really happy with it. it doesn't inspire confidence. i like the idea of my #PKM platform knowing what i'm doing but it's probably best done by exporting completed tasks into Obsidian vaults.

based on my most recently surfaced books in my #Boox or iPad i could really read the hell out of a book like "#Decluttering Your World with #Psychedelics, #AI, #PKM, #threatModeling, and #Privacy and Love Your #Productivity Journey" by Harvard Business Review

the thing similar to "channeling ratatoskr" in that book is called "shinkansen" or "bullet train thinking" (screenshot of the #shinkansenEffect overview)

so which Flow book are you talking about :) as a student of aikido and reiki practitioner i am endlessly shown parts of the big picture and it's awesome.

i am liking what i am reading about #gpt4all because i am really curious what LLM local compute would do with my vaults of notes and artifacts and i can't load them into OpenAI nor do i want to 😂 but if my fellow #pkm geeks and #ObsidianMD users have done more than just that chatgpt pane plugin for SmartConnections i am curious if it's been satisfactory.

my #johhnyDecimal ontology and structure continues to evolve but gradually settle down? maybe? some if you may be intrigued by the 🏮 - soumatou is a japanese word meaning something like "your life flashing before your eyes" that moment of serenity and submission, which i find rather apt for a filing system and onotolgy for my life's work of all kinds.

hello, i've shared a gist of the #Brewfile from ICON, an intel #macOS workstation i use for creative work and research.

it runs among other things: Lightroom Classic, Lightroom CC, Photoshop/Bridge, Affinity, iMovie, Handbrake, but also gets used for virtualization, #PKM duty (#DEVONthink 💪 and #Obsidian), some amateur radio stuff and tooling for same.

ICON does too much, honestly, but if anyone is curious what sort of tools i use, this is basically it.

okay i am trying to sandbox what a #johnnyDecimal structure would look like for my life, and then perhaps vaulting out some portions of that. if anyone in #PKM mastodon has any favorite bookmarks i'd love to see some examples. i'm still mindmapping and scribbling and nowhere near done and i tend to over-taxonomize.

i have a lot of crossover between two households. e.g. MDM for kid devices, but different infrastructure and projects will emerge in either and not sure how to group things.

one tool i use _a lot_ as a compulsive annotator and presenter is textsniper.app which is included in a #SetApp subscription! you draw a box and it OCR's what you boxed and puts it in the clipboard for you.

i use it like 100 times a day.

mastodon is still introducing me to new ideas and people that i would probably not met otherwise. i knew the #infosec people were all here already but i've found #artists and #pkm luminaries and a few fellow casual gaming dads and parents of kids like mine.

my instance is managed by @mastohost and i am satisfied++ with their service. i don't intend to allow open registration here, so i don't have a lot of obligations and responsibilities to users. this has been really a great experience.

i haven't had time to start finding more #PKM luminaries to follow, but i am already so much enjoying the extra inspiration in my timeline from the people i've started following!

hopefully i can contribute, i come up with a lot of ideas and some of them are even good! i still haven't spent much time playing with #Obsidian new canvas mode! i do update my community plugins when i sit at a computer though at least.

PS that new Reader from #readWise is awesome and i'm sure there is a plugin.

automated yet for all of my reading, but my Books notes contain a lot of useful information too and I was not expecting it to work at all 😂
