TIL that #Philippines' new telecoms provider, #Dito, has arrived in my town and neighbouring towns.

Folks are saying that Dito 4G (not even 5G) is a lot faster than either #Globe or #Smart. We're talking 40Mbps both up and down - not bad for wireless.

So I've ordered a Dito SIM with 96Gb of prepaid data, and we'll see what kind of performance I get when I pop it into my TP-Link 4G router.

Anything that brings me closer to ditching #PLDT Fiber is something I have to explore.

I do use #data whenever #PLDT is down. Data speed here* is well over 10Mbps. I have #Smart and #DITO. I have #Globe too but their data here is poor and customer service is hopeless. It seems data is more than sufficient when browsing and using #Slack #Zoom. Joining with screen sharing works but don't know about me* doing the screen sharing, if it'll still be good. 🤷‍♀️

Not sure about 5Mbps* at the new place being good enough. 🤔

So, #PLDT (internet, phone, TV) is down again, dead fibre connection.

The automated hotline number asks for your phone or account number but then rejects it, so queueing up at the local outlet followed by a 6 day wait is the only official option.

Luckily we kept the mobile number of the last technician to visit, so he'll be round early tomorrow morning in exchange for a few small bills and a snack.

It's the only way to get things done around here.
