TIL that the #POS systems at Regal movie theaters use #TFTP to boot, I guess that’s one way to ensure the devices always have up-to-date firmware.

And then when you make an appointment with one of those doctors, they invariably tell you they no longer accept Healthkeepers and have no idea why.
This has happened nearly 10x in the last year. It is downright maddening.
Anthem Healthkeepers truly is a #POS.

What is sorely needed is an influx of #technology folks that can work with #tax folks to come up with a file standard and then press to have a safe harbor provision for retail establishments that opt for a certified point of sale system that makes use of said standard. Point of sale (#pos) systems is an area in desperate need of modernization and standardization. In addition to being an insufferable tax/law pedant, I dabble in very rudimentary #scripting. Here is a PowerShell script I cobbled together from the results of Google searches and bugging people that combines a folder filled with Excel files in to one file.
