^@vangoghmuseum: Vincent was keen to learn more about colours. He studied all kinds of books on colour theory, but also experimented through other ways. To study the effect of colour combinations, Van Gogh used balls of wool, like these. 🧶By doing so, he also saved precious paint.

I hope the local arts supplies shop has a good offer on water colour paints soon... I'm starting to run low on quite some colours, specifically the yellows and blues...
Last year's offer of the tin carry case along with the half-pans for 99 NOK was quite good, and it would be a decent solution to get some more half-pans as well as paints I'm familiar with, but half of the paints are still quite full. Aside from that, I want a different hue of red... Not too fond of the alizarin crimson and permanent rose.

The Jain's Death and Rebirth in Water Colours

After reading "The Jain's Death", a comic suggested earlier today by @RussSharek, I wanted to paint two scenes from it.
Page 26, depicting a tiger hidden among jungle foliage at night, and page 45-g, showing some kind of a geothermal energy explosion or eruption, stood out the most to me. They also both had a limited hue palette, and were quite contrasting, which suited me well as I have been wanting to try a couple of fairly #monochromatic paintings in preparation for #huevember, after seeing @dona's huevember creation.
