My 5-yo shows interest in the #boardgames I play. He’s not old enough to grasp everything about them but I’ve realised he’s definitely picking things up. For example in #PalmIsland, he gets how many resources you need to upgrade, checking whether he has those resources, and how to move the cards. He’s clearly ready for something more complex than Snakes and Ladders. I’ve already ordered #MyLilEverdell; anyone got any other good recommendations for little people?

I like to have a quick game handy (in this case literally) for when I have 10 or 15 spare minutes, or don’t have the energy to set up and tear down a big game.

This is #PalmIsland, an 18-card handheld game. The cards are rotated, flipped and moved about in the deck as you work to build an island village. I’ve taken this game on trips across 3 continents this year as it’s so compact and robust. You do need good finger grip and dexterity to play though. #BoardGames #microgames #cardgames
