I read this book as a kid and always adored the cover. There’s a great Patricia Highsmith story about giant killer snails that really marked me. Found this copy on Ebay, complete with 1980s library card!

#BOTD Artist extraordinaire Michael Whelan (b 1950), whose covers for the Ballantine/Del Rey 1982 reprints of #HPLovecraft are some of the most recognizable #PaperbacksfromHell ever. I still recall the thrill of finding BLOODCURDLING TALES back in 1987!
