Scripture tells us that when Jesus spoke, He spoke in parables (ref Matt 13), or earthly stories with Heavenly meanings. Jesus was trying to reveal the Kingdom of Heaven by using parables to help explain spiritual principles; however, the majority only heard the story and did nothing with it. They couldn’t see the WORD being revealed to them.
Scripture remains the same; the difference is whether we are willing to dig deeper into the parables/symbolism, as the disciples did, or if we are content with the surface level. Our level of understanding will reveal our relationship with the WORD, as well as if we truly know how His kingdom operates.

Did you know that there are mysteries in scripture?
Jesus said that the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven were given to those who have the ability to hear and see it, that is, spiritually understand the parables (Mat 13:10-11).
Revelation is how we receive the mysteries of God. The ones who receive revelation are His holy apostles and prophets. Being a prophet is NOT simply giving people words, it is the ability to understand spiritual concepts, and pull out the deeper meaning of what God is trying to say.

Tongues of Fire
“Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:3-4)
Tongues speak of a language, so what language were the apostles speaking on the day of Pentecost?
Apostle Paul said that there is no good in speaking in tongues unless you speak by revelation, knowledge, or teaching (1 Co 14:6). There is a deeper understanding of speaking in tongues: it is speaking of an apostalic language, or the ability to understand God’s shadows (His parables). It is the ability to understand and teach spiritual things.

Eyes to See and Ears to Hear
________
There is a common theme amongst the old and new testaments: the prophets and Jesus both urge the people to get ‘eyes to see and ears to hear’. Do we really understand what this means?

Decoding the Message
________
We know that when Jesus spoke, He spoke in parables. The real meaning in His teachings were hidden or encrypted in those parables. Jesus explained that the knowledge of the mysteries was given to the disciples, but not to the rest because they didn’t have eyes to see or ears to hear.
According to Paul, the revelation of the mysteries are made known to God’s holy apostles and prophets, (Eph 3:5).
