First #ParkRun of 2023. Also event 300 of my local park. Over run on 55% of them! If you also count volunteering, it goes over 60%.
@markscourse it works quite well since you need a few volunteers for even a large event.
If an event beginners too big, c there surely are other parks nearby.
Community feeds #ParkRun and also the other way around. It might start with a group of friends that like to run, but eventually people in the area that like to run become friends.
Scales the mastodon way, small instances with an overarching idea.
I find fascinating how #ParkRun intuitively taps into the concepts of Atomic Habits.
Fixed date, time and location. Make it obvious.
Encouraging environment, everyone else is committed to run as well.
System, not goals. Run every Saturday, PBs are secondary.
