About 40 mins, from a reference photo, A5 size. Doing it by solar light and can't really see as well as I'd like, or not quite bright enough XD But it'll do!

I like this one!

This is all with the Paul Rubens. They layer very nicely; with the softer more expensive pastels you'll have an easier time putting light highlights on top of dark colours.

Taken in different lighting conditions because taking photos of any shiny art medium is *hard*. -.-

Always wanted to do this classic candle-in-the-dark image, so here it is in #OilPastels

I finally dropped my too careful attitude about the amount of pigment I put on the paper and the process is so much more satisfying!

First sketch, done on Claire Fontaine fine grain drawing paper, 160g/m².

Ok, so I just did my first oil pastel session in my parents garden. I didn't bring a camera and my phone is...well...actually a phone! I'll upload all my drawings...paintings....dr....I get confused! Combining Mungyo and Paul Ruben #OilPastels to use both of their strengths in an optimal way! Quite liking the combination.

Got a new paper to try out so I made a lil comparison of Paul Rubens macaron and Mungyo Gallery! 220gsm local brand textured drawing paper. Bottom row is without any blending or removing crumbs.
Mungyo: (left, dirty fingers oops)
- goes down dryer and more precise
- smooth blending
- better for layering details
PR: (right)
- creamier but more crumbly, bit sticky
- painterly blending, great for skies
- good chunky and opaque layers, not great for layering fine details
