I had a quick walk down the River Bradford at the foot of Youlgrave village this morning #peakdistrict #derbyshire Despite it being overcast, recent downpours from a couple of days of thunderstorms had raised the humidity at the river, making it a very sweaty walk. As you can see the predominant colour was verdant green
I thought I would go to the #starcitizen #barcitizen in #manchester. Went hiking all day instead around #peakdistrict #mamtor I will buy the beer next time

This is Jenkin Chapel, a small CofE church between Macclesfield and Buxton. Very close to Thursbitch. Very primitive, but wonderfully calm atmosphere. Sound of sheep and rooks from outside. #PeakDistrict #AlanGarner

I've seen this kind of thing firsthand on the Peak District Facebook groups I'm in. Not specifically about signs to Mecca (which I'm yet to encounter, but look tasteful and in-keeping to me) but a general hair-trigger rudeness that cropped up whenever Muslim walkers made a post or comment. A disappointing reminder that outdoor activities are not 'home ground' for progressives.

Walkers are Welcome Town - Stocksbridge
Stocksbridge is situated, in the Upper Don Valley, some ten miles north of Sheffield City Centre. We are geographically isolated from neighbouring towns and cities.
On the edge of the Peak District National Park, the town centre is in a valley surrounded by beautiful countryside. The area offers many easy, safe and pleasant walking options.
