The ride was okay. I rode alone so it was just at my own pace. 🐢🚲 I wasn't trying to keep up with anyone. But we do have some hilly roads. 🚵‍♀️

Noooo!! 😄 Only if I need something from the #BikeShop in that building. I had Grey ⚫🚲🔎 checked because I was worried about some sounds* I heard while riding.

That area is hilly and the driveway leading up to the building is pretty steep. Even with #PedalAssist I was too chicken to ride up that driveway. It's very badly* paved. For people on 2 wheels, it's an accident waiting to happen. 😱 I was also afraid to ride back down. I walked my #bike. 😅

Somebody brought a test unit of this #BESV #PSF1 foldable #PedalAssist #eBike at Sunday's gathering. 🚴🚴🚴 The vendor had asked one of the group's prominent members to try it out and give a review.

Looks impressive.
The usual specs, i.e. 25kph etc.

Only 18kgs. 😃👍
But, no throttle. 😐👎

The price tag?
120k+ PHP 😳

TBH I *do* try to forget #electricmotorcycles. I'm probably still alive because in my reckless younger years I never bought a petrol #motorbike because I intuited I'd kill myself or someone. Had a GF with lots of titanium in her leg for a while. Now, in mid 60s, I just love the thrill of still having #muscles that are of use, and a vehicle that goes amply fast enough with my assistance, which I can carry over my shoulder AND carry 100kg up a #mountain on. Things without #pedalassist [whichever way you like to look at the assist] now bore me. Sorry, it's just #ebikes and #quaxing for me.

Good idea such a poll. Because the addressed groups #bicycles #trikes #recumbents, #pedelecs #eBikes ... are rather sporty, there is now a certain evidence, that the majority can't travel further than 50 km with a #bike. Since the poll integrates all kinds of Lfz with and without #PedalAssist, I would say, we have evidence, that promoting #pedelec up to 45 km/h lighter than 50 kg would advance the #transition of mobility. #verkehrswende #fahrrad #Lfz

I had #BikeCitizen app recording my trip. Fortunately the battery lasted for the entire 1-way ride. I started recording at the police outpost in #Manila.

I tried to ride on pedal power and only used #PedalAssist when necessary. Even with that I struggled with this long ride. But all those stops and the encouragement from my companions helped. 🙏

The pollution and traffic was terrible though. 😣!

Articles explains the 3 types of E-bike categories, which defined the amount of power & how the power can be used. Category 1 has a max speed of 20mph & is pedal assist. Pedal assist means you must be pedaling before the power helps you pedal. Category 2 Is the same speed but power can be activated by throttle. Many #pedelecs and #eBikes claim to do around 50km or 30 miles, some more. But that's in ideal conditions, of course. Not hilly conditions.

I keep my #PedalAssist / PAS at zero (only human pedal power) till I need it. As soon I get past uphill situations I turn it off again. The longest ride I've done in a day is around 50-ish km. The battery hasn't gone dead on me yet.

What is the distance you would/could #bike in a day and still be comfortable* at the end of your ride?

By comfortable, I mean you're not so exhausted that all you want to do is sleep -- you still have energy to do stuff or go sightseeing.

Includes #bicycles, #unicycles, #trikes, #recumbents, #KickScooter, #pedelecs a.k.a. #eBikes with #PedalAssist... anything that uses pure/some human* pedal power.

I'm considering joining a #bike ride that's ±53km one way plus ±11km trip for me to get to the meetup spot. Then it's ~60km 🚴‍♀️ back home.

☝️ I dunno if I can handle all that distance. I aim for ~90% #PedalPower, 10%~ #PedalAssist.

✌️ Getting there 🏁 there'll be dozens of us, with a Ride Leader, Marshalls and Sweepers. But getting back home? There's my real dilemma. Most* will take the bus back. I can't do that. Not with a heavy #eMTB. I may* end up 🚴‍♀️ alone. 😭

How do you use your #eBike with #PedalAssist?

❔ PAS always ON
❔ PAS On for most* of the ride, like 80% or 90% of the time
❔ PAS/throttle only* when needed, like in difficult situations like hills or when already tired from pedaling too hard

Me, I only use PAS when needed, or when I want to charge the battery again (with my usage I don't need to recharge after every ride). #bikes #PAS #bicycles #cycling #ActiveMobility @ebikes @bikes @mastobikes

The #battery always charges up to 80% only. Always.

I don't always use #PedalAssist. So I'd ride with zero assist, then turn it on for a while, then off again if I don't need a boost.

Battery level would go, for example, from 68% down to 50% or even 35% in a short amount of time. Then when I turn PAS off, the battery is always able to recover quickly and go back up to, say, over 60%.

Is all that normal? 🤷‍♀️

Pleased to say that I successfully pedaled that steep corner of Visayas Ave and Quezon Circle with zero #PedalAssist! ☝️😃 I was slow and it was difficult, but I managed.

Intersections are still tricky though. I should keep using pedal assist there. Could be dangerous of I don't. 🤔 I didn't today, and I was slow to cross one major intersection. 😶 Fortunately it's early morning, not busy, and the car making a turn patiently waited for me to get across. 🙏 #cycling

Here are photos of #InternalGearHub (IGH) -- there is no derailleur.

I just realized now that what I saw was the giant hub for the recumbent's electric pedal assist. That's why it was huge. My photo of the recumbent bike is too pixelated. Can't really see the details there anymore.

But the owner did say that it's #IGH with #PedalAssist.

Thought I'd ride without gloves, but 20 minutes later... Gotta wear gloves.

And today I thought I'd stay off #PedalAssist.

Aaaaalmost made it. But silly me, I rode on Visayas Ave and the part going up to Quezon Circle is pretty steep (for me). I tried anyway. At the very end it got too hard for me. And I thank God for pedal assist! 🙏😅🙌 I'm pleased to report that I only needed pedal assist for less than half a minute. 🤪 #bikes #cycling

Joined some #bikers that have a rule about using 100% human power for their rides. I showed up with my #eMTB and asked if I could join them. I'd already messaged ahead saying I can only do about 90% -- because I use #PedalAssist about 10% of the time. The ride leader was reluctant but decided to let me join them anyway -- my excuse being health reasons. So grateful. 😊🙏

We had a few stops, hence the 5 separate cardio reports.

I would consider #eBikes that you can ride easily* without* #PedalAssist as regular* #bicycles. (Not all e-bikes with pedals work fine once the battery's dead -- some #eBikers have reported difficulty with pedaling.)

Thanks! 😊 That's true. I've made some progress. Even though I ride an #eMTB and need #PedalAssist now and then...

I remind myself how I started barely doing 10 minutes, to doing half an hour straight, to doing an hour, and... finally getting out on our crazy city streets on my own! 😱

I'm still a wimp and won't ride far, alone at night. And I still need some pedal assist. But I ain't apologizing! 🤪 They do them. I do me. I know* what I've achieved! 🚴 #cycling #bikes

I forgot to record my most important cardio activity of the morning -- the 21km ride starting from and ending at city hall. 🤦‍♀️ I only have the report of my before and after -- going to and leaving from city hall. 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, the 21km took me about 1 hour 20 minutes. Some parts were a little too difficult for me. 😬 And I thank God for my wonderful #bike with #PedalAssist. 😊🙏

Oh, and the city rewarded us with a nice breakfast. 😃👍

This is not an easy incline for folks like me. 😳

Looks like I really made the right choice picking my #bike. 🚲❤️ There's no way I'd be able to go far or ride on roads like this one without #PedalAssist. It'll be a long time before I get strong enough for these roads.
