Looking for a free Android #Peertube app that is built to let you upload videos from your phone to your own Peertube channel.

So I created a #Peertube account because I can't upload even short videos to my Mastodon account due to file size. Then I realized I don't know of any #Android Peertube apps. Anyone have a recommendation for the best one?

What's a typical file size limit?

It seems like most #PeerTube servers limit uploads to around 5MB / day. Seems unworkably low, even for my little travel videos I’d like to share. I’d be cool with hosting my own for friends and family, but is PeerTube the right answer for that? Probably that’s just a hidden way of asking if it somehow has built-in access to a CDN or if every video I serve is going to buffer coming off whatever cheapest-available server I find.

Y’all. I have a small collection of my lectures on YouTube. I want to move them to a PeerTube server.

Any recommendations on a good instance? I’d love reliability and long-term stability.

Ich teste gerade eine eigene #Peertube-Instanz.

Wer sich Content zum Thema #Elektromobilität von mir anschauen will, wird dort (zumindest initial) vor allem re-Uploads meiner Videos finden, die ich vor Jahren auf #Youtube veröffentlicht habe.

Mal schauen, ob ich irgendwann dazu komme, neue Inhalte zu produzieren.

Yes, the character cap is an *instance*-specific configuration param of Mastodon. The default IS 500. Some config more.

However, Mastodon isn't the only "platform" on the #Fediverse that all speak the same #ActivityPub protocol. Platforms like #akkoma #Pleroma #misskey #calckey are all similar "microblog" like platforms, each with different default msg caps.

Further, platforms like #pixelfed #Peertube all speak it too.

I think #PeerTube needs #boosts. I can "like" videos, but there's no place for anyone to see all the videos I have "liked". You can sort videos by "most likes", but that just surfaces a bunch of old weird stuff.

@Palace4 naja in Form von #Peertube arbeitet das #Fediverse ja bereits länger daran, aber ohne den entsprechenden #Content und Menge an #Creatorn ist das ein Kampf von Tropfen gegen Niagara Fälle. Vielleicht wird es eines Tages soweit sein, aber "noch" hängen wir in der "freien" Welt Ionen hinterher. :)
