@SynthSteph Inzwischen schaue ich gar nicht mehr besonders oft Reviews, ich lese sie wenn lieber oder höre in Podcasts was nebenbei dazu. Beim Anschauen bin ich inzwischen mehr bei Sachen wie #PeopleMakeGames, #NoClip Dokumentationen oder zum Beispiel die #DoubleFine Doku-Serien.

Einzig #AltF4Games passt noch klassisch zu Reviews. Da gibt es zwar auch immer wieder Verrisse. Ich habe aber das Gefühl, dass da doch auch immer ein liebevoller Blick, für das, was gut ist, bleibt.

The issue is #StackRating, everyone rating each other. And everyone can freely choose what to work on. This leads to people trying to do "meaningful" tasks to leave an impression on the rest of the group. Might also lead to some doing tideous work to be noticeable. But doesn't seem to elevate what's best for users.

Valve fördert durch ihre innere Struktur (insb. stack ranking system) schon, dass manche eigentlich offensichtlichen und vielleicht "kleinen" Dinge liegen bleiben, weil sie in den Augen der Kolleg:innen (wobei auch hier die Doku zeigt: vor allem Kollegen) nicht wichtig genug sein könnten.

That #PeopleMakeGames video on Valve is really good, a real eye opener too, but it reminds me of many of the things I can't stand about Valve and Steam and I come away wishing there were alternatives to Steam with the same kind of reach/power so I didn't have to rely on it so much. It's damn hard to sell games anywhere, let alone off-Steam.

Moim zdaniem bardzo ważny materiał na temat związków pomiędzy internatowymi loteriami a Valve.

Pamiętam ,jak ten problem wybuchł pierwszy raz. Nagle okazało się, że te skórki w CSie mogą służyć za tokeny w hazardzie. Potem przyszedł czas na dyskusję na temat #lootbox.ów, która w zasadzie trwa do dzisiaj. Tylko raz jest głośniejsza, a raz cichsza.
