#Perusall is a fantastic replacement for discussion forums.
Here is the basic layout.
he main window loads the reading or video.
Students can then highlight and start a conversation on the text itself.
If it is a video, it holds the discussion at that timestamp.
This gives a level of discussion detail that's hard to otherwise foster.
We break out of the woodenness of forum discussions.
Students seem to get a lot more out of it---and they do the readings!
I really love the social reading app #perusall, but they got some basic usability stuff to figure out.
Struggled so hard this semester to stay in the classroom w these gorram #CPTSD attacks.
Lotta times we've had to do #virtual (text-based on my end) classes through Google docs and #Perusall videos.
Only had to cancel a few.
Upside is I've worked through 2 huge and debilitating triggers that were hitting an hour before class and an hour into office hours or events I'm enjoying. Yes w aww
