How are you all doing?

I'm feeling like I've got flu - you know, that aching joints and heavy feeling.
I'm guessing it's the aftershocks from the #colonoscopy and my body reminding me it's not as resilient as it once was (if it ever was).

I've taken a couple of paracetamol which might have helped a little.

A visit to the #Petanque club is feeling marginal at the moment - I'll see how I feel after some breakfast.

As if you care, I'm feeling a whole lot better this morning.

A decent night's #sleep without nightmares (although I did ride a motorbike from Budapest to Ukraine last night. Wot?)

Off to play #Petanque later #today if the weather holds.

Yesterday evening's #Petanque match was good fun. I played abysmally in the first match (which we lost), but my game was improved in the second one - which we won, and I'd say that we won against a better team.

It was great playing on a warm evening as the sun was going down in the park.

I was completely knackered, so didn't stay for supper.

The #Petanque club must be desperate again - they've asked me to play in a competition match this evening.

A chance to ride my new bike there.

It was pétanque club lunch today. Aperitif, starter, main, cheese course, dessert, coffee. Wines, water and bread to accompany the meal. 10€ a head. All made by club members for club members. It's simple and tasty food, all freshly made.

In fact it's looking more like November than July!

Photo shows my three shiny balls and two opposition balls. My three are nearest the cosh. Our team needed three to win the game. We won. I'm happy!

I slept like a sleeping thing last night.

I'll go to the #Petanque club after an early lunch #today.

It's back to the normal routine this week. I need to loosen up with #taiChi on Tuesday!

Splendid evening playing in a #Petanque league match at #Stapleton in #leicestershire - it was chilly but not too cold.

Oh, and we won (again).

I've had a great #evening playing in a league #Petanque game.
I wasn't playing at my best, at least to start with - but we won both games.
It was very cold out there. I'm glad to be indoors warming up.

Glorious day in #Leicester today.

I'm just back from #WesternPark where there's loads of people enjoying the sun.

Saw a pair of Jays and some parakeets.

I've played a good game of #Petanque and was on the winning team (of course!).

#cycling there & back was a joy with polite drivers and a quiet route.

I've done a bit of #gardening and later I'll cycle to the #Leicester #Petanque Club in Western Park all being well. (That might be scuppered by daughter issues that cropped up overnight)

This evening isn't panning out as expected - daughter has organised 'priority delivery' with #UberEats and it's not being delivered until 15 minutes before her & Mrs Mike are due to go out - so she's having a minor meltdown.

The #Petanque club is closed this evening, so I'm going to be having a chilled night in by myself (which is probably just as well after all that driving!)

#Today

It's going to be a tiring day #today, and I've woken up tired!

We are taking daughter into the depths of East Anglia to collect her car, then we're all driving back again.
Thankfully the weather is good.

Then after going out for food - mum and daughter are going to see a show at #Leicester #Curve.
If I've got any energy left I'll perhaps go to the #Petanque club while they're at the #theatre

Update on the #Petanque match:

We won 4 games to nil

Even though I say it myself, I think that I played pretty well.
More importantly I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening with some great people.

It was blessed cold though!

#Today just got stranger than before.
I've been invited to play as part of the club team in a #Petanque league match this evening.
I'm a league match virgin.

I imagine they're desperate, but hopefully I won't embarrass myself.
Wish me luck.

#Today is working out better than expected.

Our daughter has come to visit us - she needed to use our shower and wanted me to sort her new phone.

Mrs Mike and her visited the local shopping centre while I was at #Petanque

It's really nice to see our daughter at our house looking happy and fairly well.

Two games of Pétanque - we won one 12/13 but lost the other 13/0 - same players!

Hot and sunny out there for a change - a great day for being outdoors.
