I owe Ruth an eternal thanks, and I am not sure how to ever repay her for her help.
I do think it is important to tell this story because there are so many #PhDStudents who were in a position like me.
#academia is a difficult world, but people like Ruth show us that is can also be a good world.
While the reputation of #academia might discourage students from reaching out, my story shows it should not.
