What are your opinions on grey literature, trade reports and consultant's reports, etc?

I've been reading some and the quality is shocking. I'm blown away by how bad some of it is. How do these people have any credibility?

The stuff I'm looking at is coming out of large, 'respected' consulting groups and it's garbage.

PhD’s cover a large group of higher educated people in the Netherlands and it is therefore important that the interests of all these PhD’s are represented by an organization such as the PNN.

Here's my #introduction -- I work as an #academic in the Faculty of #Humanities at #UtrechtUniversity in the Netherlands where I specialize in #Theory of #CulturalInquiry. I also work on #PracticeBasedResearch of #Interdisciplinary #HigherEducation. Last year I developed a #toolkit for supervisors of #ArtsBased and #PracticeBased #PhDs together with Danish colleagues.

A question for #academics, #research ers and especially #phds - have you experienced #plagiarism or IP theft of your work?
And what if anything did you do about it?
