The National Council was founded in 2010 by a group of women incarcerated in federal prison in Danbury, CT. Many of us are mothers, the organization works to end the criminal legal system's forced separation of women and girls from their communities and loved ones through hyper-local organizing, public awareness education, movement lawyering, and the national #FreeHer Campaign. The National Council also organizes against the incarceration of women globally through its International Network.

Our mission was and still is, to end the incarceration of women and girls.

This is me back in 2017 when I was the happiest, truest authentic version of myself.

In late 2018 I shaved my head while studying and practicing Zen Buddhism and got ordained, thinking I would stay on that path for life and become a full time Buddhist monastic.

During the pandemic I began straying away from my practice due to spiritual trauma, etc.

Although I am post op, the past over a year has been filled with lengthy periods of extreme gender dysphoria and overwhelming depression.

I so bad, more than anything , NEED to return to who I was before I got involved in Zen!

I'm sick of repeatedly getting misgendered, and I'm sick of people like us being demonized and terrorized by transmisic bigots.

I shouldn't have to be afraid to go out anywhere I want without the risk of violence, and especially for youth and people of color who are at even more risk.

We shouldn't have to be afraid of losing our gender affirming care.

We deserve to be safe, and treated with respect and dignity.

I'm depressed and I'm sick and tired of struggling in dire poverty, feeling invisible.

I'm not thriving like I should be and deserve to be.

I need support from my friends, comrades and allies.

I've been out in the streets these past few years fighting for everyone, and right now, I need you to fight for transgender and non binary people all over the world.

protester at Trans Day of Resistance March in Boston Massachusetts honoring Eden Knight (c. 2000 – c. March 12, 2023) was a 23-year-old Saudi Arabian trans woman living in the United States who died by suicide on or around March 12, 2023.
According to her suicide note, which she posted on Twitter, Knight had been coerced into returning to her family in Saudi Arabia, who forced her to detransition.

Just finished scanning roll of Astrum / Svema Foto 100 I shot today with Kiev 4 rangefinder camera with Jupiter 8 lens. Developed in HC110b 9:45

Unfortunately the camera has some winding and frame spacing issues and I ended up with several multi-exposure shots, although a few at the beginning of the roll come out fine.

I love the fine grain, sharp film, but this camera is a bit funked up.
