@Theholypumpkin @toby @bunsenlabs @ubuntu @Raspberry_Pi @tails @torproject
But that's just me wanting to have a consistent technology stack across work and home and being able to just "install & forget" with automatic updates on for the support lifecycle of the distro.
Doesn't mean other options are invalid tho, and I'd rather be forced to use my #Pi0W on #bash / #CLI for the rest of my life than ever having to see or use #Windows ever again!
@Walrus @trashheap @Raspberry_Pi Personally, I got one as I wanted to evaluate it as replacement for a #Pi0W or even a faster #Pi0 with no need but it's HDMI, USB, microSD and cpmputational power compared to scalped #PiZero|s...
But then again the #PocketCrypto doesn't need any #GUI but just a #TUI...

#tui #GUI #PocketCrypto #pizero #pi0 #Pi0W
@wa7iut @nixCraft OFC that may not be viable for everyone, but a @Raspberry_Pi - even Version 1.2 Model B or #Pi0W with a USB hub - work wenn enough as an #SMB & #DLNA - Fileshare on the LAN...
Personally, I think that the only method to enshure one's data isn't monetized is to pay for the service directly in lieu of data selling and ads.

@cloudyc Yeah, or one of those that barely function [i.e. #BananaPi #BPi0M2 which spec-wise should wipe the floor with @Raspberry_Pi's #Pi0W but don't even support anything but 720p60 output!]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51OMXTElStM
Let's just say I'd not trust an #SBC where the only supported images are on some MEGA.nz or GoogleDrive / box.com accounts and the documentation doesn't even specify how to reproducibly build a minimal Linux for it.
@chksome Or maybe
@geerlingguy works professionally with
@Raspberry_Pi SoC's...
After all, #RaspberryPi #CM4's are extremely common since they have what all their #clones and #competitors lack:
EXCELLENT DOCUMENTATION!
Even if the #BananaPi #BPi0M2 should wipe the floor with the #Pi0W / #Pi0 even #IT professors can't get it to work in any other mode than 720p60...
#IT #pi0 #Pi0W #bpi0m2 #bananapi #competitors #clones #cm4 #RaspberryPi
@dysfun @astrid not to mention raw performance isn't everything...
Shure the #BananPiZeroM2 blows the @Raspberry_Pi #Pi0W out of the water spec-wise, but in terms of #documentation and #Software #Support it's completely falling flat on it's face!
#support #Software #Documentation #Pi0W #bananpizerom2
@forthy I know how the #GreatFirewall works - I've been paid to penetrate it from both sides on several occasions.
Also that HK - SIM trick doesn't work and whilst it's tempting and relatively easy to get SIM cards with fake IDs everywhere, I think just setting up a local "probe" i.e. #Pi0W with some extra hardware that is using public WiFi's is a mopre practical option to do so.
That being said, most clients just flatout geoblocked the "P.R." China as well as North Korea and Russia...
@sqfmi cool.
So it's that #Surplus #Blackberry-#Keyboard with a #Display and space to mount a @Raspberry_Pi #Pi0W?
Basically an alternative to the #VT69 from @violenceworks if someone didn't want a #text #terminal but an actual #GUI at their disposal...
#GUI #Terminal #text #vt69 #Pi0W #Display #keyboard #Blackberry #surplus
@ethanOS thx but I'm still figuring out how to get the #BananaPiZeroM2 #BPi0M2 working as a drop-in replacement for the @Raspberry_Pi #Pi0W & #Pi0 since #RaspberryPi seems more unwilling than unable to get units sold via their distributors at #MSRP.
Cuz the scalpers charge €60+ for a #Pi0W and €120+ for a #Pi0 v1.3 when both are actually €10 and €5 MSRP.
Industrial customers however seem to get double-digit numbers at MSRP just fine...
#msrp #RaspberryPi #pi0 #Pi0W #bpi0m2 #bananapizerom2
@wim_v12e +9001%
If I can't run it on a @Raspberry_Pi #Pi0 v.13 or #Pi0W then I'll not consider it useable.
@ososxe I know @rpilocator and setup alerts both with it and all the distributors for @Raspberry_Pi in #Germany.
It doesn't even have the #Pi0 v1.3 listed and all the #Pi0W are always sold out.
Also sadly it doesn't have "EU" as selection...
:boost_ok: #FollowerPower: Does anyone know a #distributor that actually sells @Raspberry_Pi / #RaspberryPi #PiZero v1.3 / #Pi0 1.3 (NOT #Pi0W / #Pi0W2!) at #MSRP or at least not beyond 300% of it?
Cuz all I see are shitty #scammers and #ValueRemoving #rentseekers aka. [unofficial!] "#resellers" that charge 1.000% - >2.000% of the MSRP and they seem to #bot all the shops empty.
Like it's worse than with the #PS5 & #XboxSeriesX, and that's already shit.

#XboxSeriesX #PS5 #Bot #resellers #rentseekers #valueremoving #scammers #msrp #pi0w2 #Pi0W #pi0 #pizero #RaspberryPi #distributor #FollowerPower
The #BananaPiZeroM2 on paper should basically run laps around the @Raspberry_Pi #Pi0 & #Pi0W but it doesn't even allow anything but 720p60 on HDMI...
#Software makes #OperatingSystems and Operating Systems make #Hardware
THIS is why the #RaspberryPi owns the market...
#RaspberryPi #Hardware #operatingsystems #Software #Pi0W #pi0 #bananapizerom2
@Raspberry_Pi unless you can fix the supply issue and help your official distributors crack down on #scalpers botting their stores clean and reselling a #Pi0W for 10x on Aperzon and eNay, that project is a pipedream for most.
@rpilocator @nus @Raspberry_Pi Yeah, I know the #Pi3A+ and I'd not mind ordering from a danish supplier.
But if I had the space, power and thermal envelope to deal with that chip, I migh just get a #CM4Lite1GB
https://raspberrypi.dk/en/product/raspberry-pi-compute-module-4/ or just fo with a #Pi0W instead.
https://raspberrypi.dk/en/product/raspberry-pi-zero-w/
That #OrangePi5 32GB would likely be used for some tiny #server project instead...
#Server #orangepi5 #Pi0W #cm4lite1gb #pi3a
@nus @Raspberry_Pi Also for some projects I specifically want nothing unencrypted and most stuff not even to be persistently stored at all...
https://github.com/KBtechnologies/PocketCrypto
So if you know a good drop-in replacement for the #Pi0 v1.3 [not #Pi0W, but that's also acceptable] hit me up.
So far @rpilocator barely shows anything in stock in #Germany or the #EU in general...
@pmdj I use the same model for some background cli stuff, since it just works.
And with @Raspberry_Pi #Pi4B and #CM4 being scalped into insane prices [I've seen #Pi0W's for €100 on Amazon!] unless one needs it's specific stuff like GPIO it's more reasonable to just upcycle...
