- Smart Home ist jetzt #Homeassistant + zigbee statt WiFi
- #DNS ist jetzt ein #pihole mit #AdBlock und quad9 als "uplink"
- Firefox statt Chrome
(- sowieso schon #Linux statt dem ganzen anderen Schmand)

Fehlt noch:
- NextCloud
- vernünftiger NAS

Primär mache ich das nichtmal wegen der Daten, sondern weil #Google immer mehr am Rad dreht und ich bei einem Ausfall/Boykott direkt was parat haben möchte. (Und weil einiges einfach besser ist)

@analogfusion I'm really intrigued by #PiHole but worry it may result in issues accessing sites/apps without some upkeep and fiddling. I am, it should be noted, not *the most* technologically inclined.

@pixelfed I assume that in the end we'll get the same #plaintext #blocklists that everything from #AdAway to #PiHole & #pfBlockerNG already uses...

Maybe even support #TSVs with multiple collumns so people get some reasons displayed and/or granular blocking options to be integrated...

Also, unless I was using it wrong, #Pihole simply used to block everything. I remember trying to enter discount codes at the checkout on pretty much any we site, and they never worked because Pihole blocked them every time. Now I just use AdGuard on my Mac and browsers and use a VPN on all my devices. Did I just not spend enough time configuring it?

@ike my #pihole does a great job of blocking ads in iOS apps. Websites sometimes have a bit more space where the ads would have been. I’ve not noticed any lag either.

I’ve got a block list for YouTube but doesn’t really do anything. Best way I’ve found for blocking those ads is to use something like Brave.

Well, first day off and my youngest is unwell. So spent the day hooking into the APIs for my solar inverter using #GoLang. Need to collect it to somewhere and then thinking of making a dashboard showing stats from the inverter, battery, #PiHole status, and IAQ info from my BME680 sensor.

One for the Raspberry Pi community - I have this LCD screen which was included in a promotional cardboard screen pack. It shows a demo reel, basically. Does anyone know if it could be adapted for use with a #RaspberryPi as a status display, maybe for #PiHole? Seems a shame to bin it, when perhaps it could live on!
