On my way to Finisterre, yesterday I walked the new/renovated trail at Iroquois Park. On the trail I was confronted by a young doe. Her ribs were showing. In early summer. I know very little about deer, but that doesn't seem to bode well for her long term survival. On Wednesday I walked an overgrown loop trail at Teeple Glade Preserve in southern Indiana. It was a pretty drive, but I drove past the trailhead twice; no parking, just two ruts to the locked gate.
