Got what I needed for my #Pinecil in order to feel comfortable with using it more regularly and fitted together another #RC2014 expansion card today, this time the YM2149 sound card.

Pin headers were a bit of a fuss as I'd found before; they're not quite as straight as I'd like them to be, but at least they're better than on my RC2014 Mini!

Also delighted that the sound chip itself seems to work; buying ICs that are no longer in production is always a bit of a lottery.

My cheap 30 watt starter soldering iron packed it in recently, so I took the opportunity to buy the #Pinecil I'd been looking at to replace it. First job with it was the #RC2014 Digital I/O card that I bought at Easter.

If anyone's bought a @PINE64 #Pinecil, how fast is the shipping to the U.S.? Also, will it work with a 15W charger (I'm ok with it taking longer to heat up), or do you really need 65W?

I'm getting some poor conductivity with my old iron. Some tinning compound might do the trick, but I think I definitely need to upgrade to something better.

... already made a way to fancy "17 €uro" DC5525 supply cable - those silicone wires aren't as floppy/flexible as I hoped they'd be, though. Well, it looks nice, it's centre positive, and it's cheaper than USB-C PD - my RD6006 is more than capable!
