EASTER braised #lamb shank with a sauce made with white wine, shallots, carrots, celery, raisins, honey, and apricot jelly. Served with vanilla flavored mashed yellow potatoes, plus asparagus with garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil. The meal is inspired by my time in Piemonte, Italy, cooking, and visiting family.

Pan-seared #veal T-bone chop deglazed with a ten year old tawny #PortWine from Portugal by Taylor Fladgate.
Served with a #zucchini #gratin topped with toasted homemade bread, baked in a ramekin, and inverted on the plate. The vegetable is simply seasoned with thyme, salt, pepper, and olive oil.

I was a member of the Duckhorn Vineyard for many years but I was and am mainly a fan of their #AndersonValley #PinotNoir -- #Goldeneye.
Have tasted their Merlots which are good, but I've never bought them them because there are so many varietals that you have to focus on the ones you like most.
For me, those are #SauvigonBlanc, #PinotNoir, #CabernetSauvignon & #Zinfindal.

Pork tenderloin, butterflied & filled w/ homemade marmalade, cranberries, garlic, thyme, rosemary, black pepper, salt, and olive oil. It’s trussed, seared, and then oven braised. On the side, there’s broccoli and carrots. California 2017 Pinot Noir from our nearby Santa Cruz Mountains by Thomas Fogarty. It’s a fruity but light wine that excellently matched the meal.
