That sounds like a useful meeting for journalism professionals. š

Yo #freelance #journalists: Iām looking to assign an on-the-ground story focused on #flooding in #california. Specifically interested in smart and unexpected angles; bonus points for story ideas that center under-represented perspectives or communities. Story for #HighCountryNews and scope should work at 800-1,400 words. I pay $1/word. #PitchMe at paigeb@hcn.org Please boost! šš½ | #climate #writers #EmergencyPreparedness #NaturalDisasters #AtmosphericRiver #EnvironmentalJustice

@Pneumofoils @jeff Bless the additional space, having stacks of more specific tags could make it easier to find things.
Maybe a call could combine a generic #PitchMe tag with specific ones, example:
I'm looking for stories on XYZ for ABC Publication. #PitchMe your ideas by <instructions for how to pitch, email address, etc..>
< stack of relevant, more specific tags like #NewsPitches or #scicomm>
#PitchMe #NewsPitches #scicomm
A lot of editors used #journalism Twitter to announce calls for pitches. For freelancers it was a great way to discover new opportunities and it'd be a shame to lose it...
On Mastodon, it's pretty impossible to find anything without a hashtag.
Have any of the the editors who have begun to trickle over here settled on one for calls for pitches?
Maybe #PitchMe or #CallForPitches would work?
