We're hoping to move over from disposable FFP3s to Cambridge Masks FFP2s in the near future, but our ears can't take the strain. These along with some button hole elastic, should help to take the pressure off.

In the meantime, our GP surgery has texted all patients saying they are overwhelmed and asking us not to contact them unless absolutely necessary. Instead they're sending us links to self help websites.

I had a hospital out patient appointment this morning (full cudos to NHS staff for weekend clinics), plenty of bare faces, chin warmers & few masks being worn correctly. How, after nearly 3 years, is it possible for medical/reception staff to not know how to wear a mask? And why, oh why, do NHS staff not have proper respirators? Mine was the only FFP3 in sight.

We popped over to the church for their Xmas community cafe today. We took our coats off, heard the coughing all around us then witnessed a volunteer server sneeze over someone's food, so promptly packed up and left. We just didn't feel safe to slip our FFP3s off to eat, even with our personal HEPAs on the table. And so started the festive season. :-(
