A friend brought me this bizarre plant from Estonia. It doesn't need soil and has to be lightly sprayed with water once a day. It's usually greyish white but turns ivory white when watered. Been growing at an incredible rate, just hanging there from a window in sunlight. Does anyone here know more about this? It's wonderfully confusing how this plant even lives. #askfediverse #askmastodon #askfedi #botany #plant #PlantOfTheDay #plantscience #phoneshot

#PlantOfTheDay The Amazon Lily above my desk in the lab is blooming! Eucharis amazonica is a native of Peru from the Amaryllidaceae family, making it a relative of daffodils and rain-lilies.

If I ever did an #introduction originally, it seems I deleted it, so here's another.
I'm the sysadmin & moderator of ausglam.space, a #librarian from Naarm/Melbourne, co-founded :newCardigan: newCardigan, created @ephemetoot (for periodically deleting your old toots) and @blogs (for sharing your GLAM blog with the world).
I mostly toot about GLAM, #PlantOfTheDay and what I ate for dinner.
Occassionally I toot about Australian politics, but I made @auspol_clippy to remind me not to.
