📷 This Chinese Fringe Flower blossom is on the tip of an 18" stem growing alone next to the big shrub in the yard—the shade tree I sit under. I glanced over from my chair, and the flower was being tossed around by the breeze, in an out of the sunlight.
Question: If there are zero blossoms on the larger, identical shrub or other new growth beside it, how/why this one? The bush bloomed in April and bore flowers into June.

I have Seek and Merlin Bird ID in my phone. Seek is for identification of plants, fungi, insects, and some animals. Merlin is for identification of birds, including analyzing spectrograms of bird calls.
Now I just need something for identifying minerals… it really is like having a tricorder in your pocket.
