like little flowering daisy's
down a desolate forgotten street.

again the world requests another
show to show each other

once again the world renews
the actors set to take the stage

year in and year out

while everyone is acting
the world delights about

Fifty years ago today Apollo 17 was headed into space, carrying the last people to walk on the moon.

My poem Walkback Limit is set during that week. While the astronauts prepare to return home, the residents of a small English village hold a lamplit vigil to mark the departure of the last train from their railway station before its closure.
