Bird is the Word! Today kicked off the start of the Point Reyes Birding and Nature Festival! A little late in posting, but it was a beautiful sunrise, I had to pull over to take a picture. The fun continues Saturday and Sunday. Some tickets still available for field events! Also don’t forget to bring your littles to the FREE family day on the green in front of the EAC Office. Not one of my best shots, but thought it was still fun to share. This is an important nesting site for the Snowy Plover, so I hope the wasn't successful! I used a teleconverter to keep my distance and cropped in quite a bit, so it's a bit mushy. Oh well.

Windblown Eucalyptus, Point Reyes National Seashore, CA, 2022.

A landmark for anyone whose 🥾 the Estero Trail. Cows often gather underneath it. I always spend a few minutes here, usually to catch my breathe . I was fortunate to capture a nice cloud formation that really accentuates the shape of the tree, and the moon makes a small cameo.

Between morning church and Lessons & Carols in the evening yesterday my daughter and I went on the Point Trail at in West Marin (California) and saw many, many Tule , a very non-skittish , and a large perched on the top of a small tree. (Also quite a few smaller hawks, including a hovering kestrel.)
